Count the exhalation,
feeling the rise and fall,
awareness becomes focused,
project outward,
to feel inward,
in time,
feel before hearing,
hearing before seeing,
extended
the conflict is no more,
it is universal,
it creates now.
A few months in I have found the thought process attached to creativity open my mind to all other area of my life that previously felt a little stale.
With my chosen medium being photography I find myself framing moments even without the camera. This “framing” provides a useful tool to step back from the now and look at what is lacking.
Now I am finding the use of mechanical thought process that have served me well in work and martial arts becoming open to the spontaneity of the universe. Being open to this allows for growth in the self and my surrounding environment.
With the creative tools at our disposal in the modern world it surprises me how people lack the confidence to truly express themselves without the use of copying others.
Over the years I have been learning on a practical, intelligent and maybe academic level but the creative muscle has never truly been exercised.Opening the gate, in addition to my passion for photography, I am find my confidence growing in expressing my opinion and views of the universe through writing and teaching Aikido . Now, what I see is becoming mine and not the collaboration of external input from others.
Finding my own way in life, it is very easy to follow the crowd in today’s media heavy society. I ask the question “If I go with the flow I will I end up down the drain.
After 35 years on this planet I am quite pleased I have found this creative side of me at this time in my life, as I have the maturity and awareness to develop it further. To much creativity goes to waste these days.
Exercising the creative side of the brain gives us freedom from the known, a true view of our internal being and the ability to provide truth.
