I have learned quite a lot about myself. I made the vow to ” do nothing ” when giving up my job back in May. Now I find myself finally reducing my commitments enough to feel comfortable with myself.
The most important thing I have learn is too experience the now, as worrying about the future is a pointless as solving an algebra equation by chewing gum.
My last career took me 10 years to find. Giving myself 3 months is relatively a small amount of time to clear out the unnecessary conditioning that has accrued as my time as a legal advisor. However, I have found myself exploring far to much “ Positive progression work ” on the internet, some of which was enlightening but also an excuse to compare to others.
From minimalist teaching to finding the ” work that adds value” I discovered the people taking about this through blogs and books are making money out of precisely that. Talking about it! This is a good living, but in the world of cyberspace the competition is fierce with people even selling the skill of how to be successful in talking about stuff.
Part of me is envious about this as I would like to have the ability to sit and chat about useful stuff while getting paid. However, I have come to discover that what adds value to my life is taking action, not writing, not emailing ,but actually getting stuff done. Input from others is needed in the course of taking action, but action can only be taken by the self for the self, the individual has to take responsibility for the outcome.
So, in taking others views, advice, and opinions on board I have panned the stream and found a few nuggets of truth that I will use on my onward journey. These nuggets have provided me something fresh that allows me to be confident in my own intelligence, an area of my persona that I have always have issues with.
Every turning point in life needs a bit of space, if not we can find ourselves doing a 50 point turn. With a degree of patience, practise and acceptance making our turning circle smaller can be a useful skill in our ever changing universe. Its all about focusing on what is needed by peeling layers of our over packaged society.
I will stop waffling…. for now.
